Ashley Rivette is a Chicago based dance artist originally from the DC, Maryland, Virginia area. She began her training in Stuttgart, Germany, where her family was stationed for eight years. In 2021, Rivette received a BFA in Dance from Shenandoah Conservatory. She apprenticed with Christopher K. Morgan & Artists during their 2019 and 2020 seasons. After graduating from Shenandoah Conservatory, Ashley joined DanceWorks Chicago (DWC) under the direction of Julie Nakagawa for two seasons. Some of her DWC repertoire included works by Robert Battle, Charissa-Lee Barton, Joshua Manculich, Mark Caserta, Demis Volpi, Hanna Brictson, Drew Lewis, Brian Enos, and Noelle Kayser. Ashley has supplemented her training with intensives and workshops by Flock, Sydney Dance Company, PARA.MAR Dance Theatre, Perry Mansfield, Yin Yue Dance Company, and BARE Dance Company. Fall 2023, she made her Lyric Opera Chicago debut as a dancer in Janáček’s Jenůfa, choreographed by Teresa Rotemberg (Noelle Kayser, Ballet Mistress). Rivette is a founding dancer and administrative assistant with Boykin Dance Project under the direction of Brian Josiah Martinez.
Hanna DiLorenzo is a multi-disciplinary freelance dance artist from Rochester, NY. She received her training at the Draper Center for Dance Education and performed with the Rochester City Ballet. Later, DiLorenzo earned her BFA in contemporary dance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, graduating early and moving to Chicago to join the Hubbard Street Dance Chicago Professional Training program (HS Pro) where she completed her degree. While at HS Pro, she had the opportunity to work with choreographers including Peter Chu, Rena Butler, Alice Klock, Florian Lochner, and Robyn Mineko Williams, and to perform alongside the main company. In 2019, she received the HS Pro Emerging Choreographer award. She has supplemented her training at summer intensives including Springboard Danse Montreal, Hofesh Shechter, and Northwest Dance Project’s Launch. Today, DiLorenzo is a collaborative dance artist with Little Fire Artist Collective, and a company member with Niko 8. As a freelance artist, she has performed works by Braeden Barnes, Alicia Johnson, Ibrahim Sabi, and Flockworks. She was also a cover for Robyn Mineko Williams’ Echo Mine. Hanna is a founding member of Boykin Dance Project.
Lieana Sherry (she/her) is a Chicago based dance artist and educator focusing in concert dance via contemporary, modern, and ballet techniques. Sherry began her dance training in Vagonova ballet, and grew into modern and contemporary techniques while completing University of Missouri-Kansas City’s Conservatory BFA program. Her professional work includes repertoire by Omar Roman de Jesus, Christian Denice, Charissa Barton, Ronin Koresh, Stephanie Martinez, Kameron Saunders, Kevin Iega Jeff and George Balanchine. Through concert, film, and immersive experiences, Lieana pursues work that wields technique and physicality to share stories, cultivate diverse conversations, and reflect life through multiple lenses. This is Lieana's first season with the company.
Kalli Loudan, from Houston, TX, began her dance training at a young age and started her development of love for all styles of dance. She began her collegiate career at Boston Conservatory at Berklee where she worked with choreographers Junichi Fukuda and Darrell Grand Moultrie. Finishing her B.F.A in dance at Sam Houston State University in 2021, she performed work of choreographers Andy and Dionne Noble, Donald Shorter, Gabrielle Lamb, and Joshua Manculich. Kalli is grateful to have apprenticed with NobleMotion Dance starting in 2019 and later becoming a full company member, developing her artistry and love for the choreographic process. Kalli is a founding member of Boykin Dance Project.
Racquel Mar, from Clarkston, MI, began her training at multiple studios in southeast Michigan including
Spotlight Dance Works under the direction of Liz Schmidt. Racquel earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance Performance from the University of California, Irvine, where she had the privilege to work with distinguished choreographers including Charlotte Griffin, Molly Lynch, and Tong Wang. Racquel had the tremendous honor and opportunity to study with legendary Donald McKayle as
a member of his UCI Etude Ensemble in addition to working with Lar Lubovitch to perform his Legend of Ten. Upon graduating in 2017, Racquel moved to Chicago to be a part of DanceWorks Chicago under the direction of Julie Nakagawa, performing works by various choreographers including Charissa Barton, Manuel Vignoulle, Shannon Alvis, and Joshua Manculich. Racquel has expanded her dance training through attendance at programs with Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance
Chicago, San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, and b12 Berlin Workshop. While in Chicago, Racquel has also performed and worked with New Dances and Purus Motus. Racquel is currently freelancing as a dancer in Chicago.
Anouk Otsea is a multidisciplinary movement artist born and raised in Juneau, Alaska, Lingít Aaní, home of the A'akw Kwáan and T'aku Kwáan peoples. After attending Walnut Hill High School for the Arts, she graduated summa cum laude from the LINES Ballet BFA Program. While at LINES, she performed works by Alice Klock, Robert Moses, Christian Burns, Nick Korkos, and Gregory Dawson, among others. Anouk’s short dance film titled, “solace,” was an official selection for the 2021 San Francisco Dance Film Festival. Professionally, Anouk has performed works by Genevieve Carson, Katlin Bourgeois, Noelle Kayser, Monique Haley, Megan Rhodes, Jackie Nowiki, Savannah Dunn, and Jessi Stegall, to name a few. A former company member of Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre and Dance in the Parks, Anouk is currently a dancer with Peckish Rhodes Performing Arts Society, Niko8 Dance, and a member of Little Fire Artist Collective. When not in the studio, Anouk finds great inspiration from teaching GYROTONIC, climbing rocks, and exploring the outdoors. Anouk is humbled and honored to be dancing alongside this cohort of incredible artists
for her first season with BOYKIN.
